MY ROOM ON MARS ROOM PROJECT
═══════════════════════════
Background --
Imagine living in Antarctica but without being able to breathe the air!
Oh and there's only 1/3 gravity too!
THAT is Mars!
Your goal over the next two classes is to design your own room on Mars.
Keep in mine that you won't be able to get back to 'home' on Earth for years... so that little room (10 ft x 10 ft x 8 ft in height) is your ONLY personal space.
MY ROOM ON MARS DRAWING PROJECT
SPECIFICATIONS
-
This is a *thoughtful* drawing... not a sketch. That means color and details are important and YES you can use software if you know how to do that.
-
Size of the room is 10 ft x 10 ft x 8 ft high. If you want to do a dome structure then something like 10-12 in diameter works well
-
You are allowed 3500 watts of TOTAL electricity at anytime.
-
You must show the appliances or electrical items present in your room and the rating (watts) for each. A data table works well for that... up in the corner somewhere perhaps.
-
You MUST have a space heater present. The space heater doesn’t have to run ALL the time but it does have to run MOST of the time.
-
You’ll need to research space-heaters and choose the one to use.
-
Show a door to your bathroom (but you don’t have to show the bathroom)
-
Don’t worry about water for this drawing after all (that will be too distracting)
-
DO NOT DRAW A PRISON ROOM... make your space individual to you, a place that is welcoming for you to come home to. That will go a very long way to keeping you safe and sane during your time on Mars
